To nox, i am also a new member here.
Have you tried holding a large cloth or board of one colour in front of you,
and just mediating on it for a few minutes, taking in all what the colour
is giving you. Feelings, light, moods. You can do this with 2or3 that you like,
to see how they affect you.

I am not sure that what you explain is 'that' unusual. Quite a few people certainly have difficulty visualising colours. You can practice this, going through the seven chakras and their colours and concentrating/meditating on each in turn and see what you feel first and then see if you get any colours. You can also try meditating on flowers of different colours - they are a wonderful way of heightening our awareness of colour.
