Hi,

I have been looking for a new water bowl for my dog and ended up in buying one that is blue inside...as i was told that they prefer this colour. Can anyone tell me why?

Hi,

The reason that a dogs water bowl is blue is due to the fact that the colour blue makes it appear that the water is cool. If it were red inside then the water would seem to appear warm.

You may say that this can't be right as dogs only see in black and white, but dogs and animals can ' feel ' colour so this does not make a difference.

It would be interesting to place two bowls of water down - one blue and one red and see which you dog drinks from. If you get a chance let me know.

That's interesting. Have to try it out on my dog. At least now I know that dogs had special feeling and I believe smell also play a part too..

I thought you might like to know that following a day at the Wag & Bone Show, I can tell you that the majority of the visitors to our stand commented that their dogs had been offered water at a number of places in varying different bowls but they only chose to drink from our water bowl - which was blue inside. It was a particularly hot day. It seems to me that this shows that dogs who do not see colour as us humans do, clearly pick up the vibrations of colour energy.
