In terms of Perception, Black like Greys and White, is an achromatic colour: a colour without hue and saturation (or "strength").
If the term is intended to be Physical (physical and psychophysical concepts are often confused) and Black refers to a total absence of visible radiation (light) then, if there is no physical stimulus, there can be no physiological response: no response-> no perception-> no colour.

Thats a very valid point about black having no response-> no perception -> no colour.

I personally have always thought that black was a colour. I suppose due to the fact we can buy black clothes (the gothic look seems to be the in thing at the moment) which Im sure if you ask any 'gothic dressed person' what the colour of the clothes they are wearing is ... the answer would be black.

I think the majority of the people in the world would almost cirtainly accept that if they look at soemthing that is black, then they would say it is the colour black. So I suppose because most of us can visualise black as well as the other colours, then In my book black is on the list as being a colour.

The colour of "mu" ("wu") is white - all the colours of the rainbow - crystal clear. There can be no inside without the outside, no front without the back, no "in" without the "yo" - so in mu white is black. Black is the same as white and as much of a colour as white, if you think that white is a colour, then black must also be a colour. If you tanscend duality then maybe you will have grey! :)

we must try to manipulate things if we saw black colour... don't stare to long to black or you gonna be mean, the feeling of evil will take over your mind.
