Colour on the eyes

I have to research colour theory and the effects different colours have on the eyes if you look at them for a long time.

Can anyone help as im having trouble finding anything

One thing which you may have noticed is that if you concentrate on a colour for a few moments and then look away straight at a blank sheet of white paper or wall, you will see the complimentary of that colour.

For example:- the complimentary to violet is yellow, indigo is orange, blue is red, etc.
