Exclamation You are what you eat with regards to colour

I read something very interesting in Linda Goodman's book 'Star Signs' - to lose weight, eat foods that are red, white, yellow and brown in colour. Also one can lie naked with a red light shining onto the soles of the feet for a certain period of time.To gain weight, eat foods that are blue and green in colour and lie with a blue light shining onto the soles of the feet for a certain period of time. This has to be done for a couple of weeks to get the best results. Do yourself a favour and check this book out - it is mind blowing!!!!!

I know this thread is fairly old now but I just wanted to say that I have to disagree with the recommendation in Linda Goodman's book to eat white foods to lose weight. White foods are usually starchy and are one of the worst foods to eat to lose weight. Green is most ideal because it is obviously healthy and from nature plus tends to contain high water content as well as vitamins. Best rule is everything in moderation.

In the West we tend to eat too much red food, e.g. meat so we end up being too acidic. In this case, again, bring in more green.

I'd like to share a reply I gave to the question "How to crystals relate to dieting and eating?" from my site. While the main topic is crystals it's also just as relevant to colour therapy. Hope it gives some insight to people reading this in the future...

Quote:
Eating is a physical process - it's how we sustain ourselves, fuel our body and energy, and maintain optimum health. Crystals that are red and orange, such as red jasper, garnet, tiger's eye, carnelian and so on, will increase your physical vitality and strength. Placing crystals of these colours in areas where you prepare food and eat (kitchen/dining areas) will encourage strong physical health and encourage a healthy appetite.

If you are looking for balance in your diet (when I refer to diet, I refer to eating in a balanced way rather than in a minimal way to lose weight) try green crystals that link to nature, because natural foods are the most beneficial for you and you can get everything you need from them. Green aventurine, amazonite and some of the many forms of jasper with green colouring such as moss agate are good choices. Place nice size pieces in your kitchen and dining areas so you are encouraged to connect with nature and you will become more conscious of your eating habits - striving to eat in a more positive way - fueling your body with light, sustaining, nutritious foods rather than heavy fatty or sugary foods that drag your system down.

If you find that you are over-indulging in bad foods, try using a yellow crystal to curb your appetite. Try citrine for example. I feel that placing your yellow crystal in a glass of water is the ideal situation and when you head for the fridge or pantry, have a few sips of your golden crystal water instead. The yellow fills you with sun energy - life force and lightness that satisfies your cells from the inside where you are looking to fill yourself with food to fill a void. When you fill a void with more positive life-giving energy, you realise that your thinking is out of balance and can start to change the habits that aren't working for you. It's like shining a ray of sunshine onto your issues so you can work on them. It sounds like quite a deep result from just a few sips of crystal water but I encourage you to try it. Seeing as yellow energy is so energising, I recommend that you only use it in the first half of the day and perhaps early afternoon so you aren't too energisied at the end of the day when your body needs to rest. Also remember to just have a couple of sips at a time. If you feel any side-effects, cut back the amount or have a longer break between having the water. To counteract any adverse effects, hold an amethyst crystal or place an amethyst in water and sip some of that. No side-effects will do damage to you or your health but when you are increasing your energy you may not be used to it and it can feel a little strange - so find a balance where you feel comfortable.

If you have issues with digestion, yellow energy (via yellow/golden crystals) can also help energise and encourage movement through the digestive system. You could try citrine or yellow calcite. You could use the crystal water method described above or simply hold and carry the crystal with you - rub it on your solar plexus and stomach area if you feel drawn to do so. Yellow calcite is unsuitable to immerse in water because it is a softer crystal but is lovely to hold and work with. Amber and honey calcite are at the 'warmer' end of the yellow spectrum and have a more soothing and pain relieving element, as do light-blue stones, e.g. if you get indigestion, place a blue stone on your throat and chest area to cool any inflamation and redness within you. Try blue calcite, blue lace agate, hemimorphite and other pale blue stones.

Finally, you can also supplement your daily eating and drinking with quartz crystal water which carries within it all seven colours of the spectrum. Often we intake mostly red and green foods but we actually do need to intake all colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. So adding a quartz crystal, especially a natural crystal point, to your daily drinking bottle can save you a lot of money on other supplements and make you feel great. You can drink any amount of quartz water without side-effects. I often place a quartz crystal in my water bottle or glass and find that the rest of the family swarm to my water to drink it for themselves!
